Processing of data when visiting the ICAROS Facebook or Instagram page
The links to social media integrated on our website are not integrated via so-called plugins. When visiting our website, no connection is established with the servers of the providers.
The following information applies in the event that you visit our company pages on the social media platforms Facebook or Instagram.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled in June 2018 that Facebook and a Facebook page operator are jointly responsible under data protection law for the data processing that takes place when visiting a Facebook page (ECJ, judgment of 05.06.2018, case no.: C-210/16). Accordingly, ICAROS GmbH and Facebook Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for the processing of Insights data within the meaning of Article 26 GDPR.
ICAROS GmbH has concluded an agreement with Facebook Ireland Limited under Article 26 GDPR regarding joint responsibility for the processing of Insights data (Page Controller Addendum). This can be viewed at:

Facebook assumes:
- The primary responsibility for the processing of Insights data
- All obligations under the GDPR with regard to the processing of Insights data (including Articles 12 and 13 GDPR, Articles 15 to 22 GDPR, and Articles 32 to 34 GDPR)
- Making the essence of the Page Insights Addendum available to data subjects

As described for Facebook, a joint responsibility applies analogously to our Instagram presence. Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, is part of the Facebook group of companies and shares infrastructure, systems and technology with Facebook.

Description and scope of data processing
When visiting our Facebook and Instagram pages, Facebook and Instagram collect, among other things, your IP address and other information that is present in the form of cookies on your PC. This information is used to provide us as the operator with statistical information about the use of our pages (Page Insights).

Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in creating usage statistics of our pages in order to further develop and optimise the content.
Purpose of data processing
We operate Facebook and Instagram pages for the purpose of company presentation and communication with customers and prospects. Statistical data (Page Insights) is used to understand the reach and engagement of page contributions, including:
- Persons reached
- Clicks
- Reactions
- Video views
Comments and contributions on our pages are also processed.
Duration of storage
According to Facebook, the IP address is anonymised and deleted after 90 days. How long Facebook and Instagram store the data for their own purposes is not known to us.
Possibility of objection and removal
Facebook does not offer the option of disabling Facebook Insights. You can completely prevent the collection and processing of data by not using our Facebook or Instagram page.
