Stroke Rehabilitation with the ICAROS Guardian – Insights from Our Current Study
We’re sharing insights from our current study on stroke rehabilitation.
In collaboration with the German Sport University Cologne and Schlaganfallhilfe Bergisch Land e.V., 15 participants from Wermelskirchen and the surrounding area trained on the ICAROS Guardian for six weeks.
The aim of the study was to examine how the participants’ mobility develops and whether they gain more confidence when walking.
Training on the ICAROS Guardian helps participants increase their mobility step by step and gain confidence in their movements.
Although the detailed evaluation of the study is still pending, initial observations show promising developments: Participants who initially could only train actively for a few minutes are now able to last 15–20 minutes in some cases—a visible improvement over the six weeks.
WDR covered the study on-site. In the report, our postdoctoral researcher Joel Massing shares personal insights into the participants’ experiences and the training process on the ICAROS Guardian.
With the ICAROS Guardian, we aim to demonstrate how targeted training can support stroke rehabilitation and help patients regain mobility and confidence in their daily lives.
