Data protection information on the use of third-party extensions

Like many other companies, we use extensions from third-party providers. Within our own website, contents from third parties (e.g. social media, analysis tools, marketing tools) can be found. Personal data (e.g. IP addresses, information from pseudonymised cookies etc.) may be disclosed or automatically transmitted to the third-party providers in this process. The nature, scope, purpose, and duration of the processing of personal data can be handled differently in the individual case.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Where consent has been given by the user, the legal basis for processing the data is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Social media
The links to social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter) included on our site are not integrated via so-called plugins. The embedded graphics with the logo of the providers only contain an HTTP link to our pages at the respective provider. Visiting our website, no direct connection is established with the servers of the providers and therefore no personal data is transferred from us to the operators of the services.

The usage of the services is regulated by the respective data protection regulations of the providers.

Analysis Tools
Web analysis tools allow website operators to analyse and monitor visitors. User journeys on the website are recorded and evaluated by the service providers.

The processing of personal data of the website user enables us to analyse surfing behaviour. By evaluating the data, we can compile information about the use of individual elements of our website. This helps us to constantly improve our websites and how user-friendly it is. These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in processing the data pursuant to article 6(1) f) GDPR.

Google Analytics (with anonymisation function)
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to enable Google to analyse the use of the website, or tags administered by Google Tag Manager. The information generated about your use of the website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.

IP anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. As a result, your IP address will be shortened within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is sent to the US. The full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the US and shortened there only in exceptional circumstances. Google will use this information on behalf of the owner of this website in order to evaluate your use of the website, in order to compile reports on the website activities and to perform other services associated with the use of the website and Internet use for the website owner. The IP address transmitted from your browser in connection with Google Analytics is not combined with other data by Google.

Google will not collect any cookies until you actively agree to this by clicking on "Accept all cookies" in our cookie-content tool. By doing so, you also consent to the processing of your data in the USA in accordance with Article 49(1)(a) GDPR.

Objection to data collection
You can prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics by making the appropriate settings in the consent tools of the respective Icaros websites.

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics and the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. We would like to inform you; in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

Browser plugin
You can furthermore prevent the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in from the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=ens

Contract data processing
We have entered into a controller/processor agreement with Google for data processing.

Transfer of data to third countries
Google implements the provisions of the EU standard contractual clauses and thereby offers a guarantee of compliance with European data protection law.

Note on data processing in the USA:
According to the case law of the European Court of Justice (judgement of 16.07.2020, ref.: C-311/18 ("Schrems II")) there is no adequate level of data protection in the USA. There is a risk that your data may be processed by U.S. authorities, for control and monitoring purposes, possibly without the possibility of legal recourse.

Data protection information for the use of other applications
We have integrated the following additional applications, where personal data may be collected and transmitted, into our website.

Google Maps
We have integrated functions of Google Maps on our website to present the locations of the ICAROS Centres. Google Maps is a cartographic service of Goggle Inc. offered by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

If you select the integrated component Google Maps at our menu item Contact, your browser will establish a direct connection to the Google servers. The content of the map is transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated to the website by it. We have no influence on the scope of the data collected by Google in this way. In accordance with our state of knowledge, this is at least the following data:

  • Date and time of the relevant website visit,
  • URL of the accessed web page,
  • IP address, (start) address entered during route planning.

We have no influence on the further processing and use of the data by Google and cannot take responsibility for this.
If you do not want Google to collect data about you via our website, please refrain from calling up the integrated Google Maps component in our Contact menu item or deactivate JavaScript in your browser settings.

For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google, as well as your rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy, please refer to the Google data protection information.

Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

In order to present our content correctly and in a graphically appealing manner in all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (

www.google.com/webfonts/) on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to prevent repeated loading. The retrieval of script or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. As far as can be seen, the IP address is transferred at the least. It is theoretically possible that operators of such relevant libraries collect other data.

If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, contents are displayed in a standard font.
